RESOLMET

Project title:

INNOVATIVE REMEDIATION TECHNOLOGY OF SOILS CONTAMINATED BY THE ACTIVITIES SPECIFIC TO THE METALLURGICAL INDUSTRY

General description:

The degree of novelty, originality and complexity of the proposed solutions derives from the scientific and technical activities in the attention of the partners:

elaboration of conceptual models and applicable techniques in case of bioremediation technologies of soils contaminated with heavy metals, sulfur dioxide, petroleum products, etc;

use of a modern scientific methodology for risk and impact assessment of activities specific to metallurgical industry upon soils;

identification and development of some micro-organisms capable of ensuring the biodegradation of pollutants from the contaminated soils;

development of an innovative technology for biological treatment – on-site and off-site – of the contaminated soils; elaboration of a remediation technology of soils contaminated by the activities specific to metallurgical industry, based on the biological treatment – on-site and off-site – of contaminated soils.

The RESOLMET project combines harmoniously the fundamental research with the applicative experimental and industrial research. The researches regarding the elaboration of some conceptual models and applicable techniques in case of bioremediation technologies of soils contaminated with heavy metals, sulphur dioxide, petroleum products have a fundamental and multidisciplinary character, contributing to the development of knowledge in the field of soils bioremediation. The experimental and industrial research is found in the activities performed by the partners, in order to develop the innovative biological treatment technology – on-site and off-site – of the contaminated soils. The biological treatment – on-site and off-site – constitutes the basic technological operation within the remediation technology of soils contaminated by activities specific to metallurgical industry.
