Trainers:

 

Mr. Pekka Tiainenis senior officer in the Ministry of the Interior of Finland, working as Technical Adviser in EU, UN, IHP and national Civil Protection policy. His expertise is in preparedness and response activities of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, contributing to the development of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism Modules and Modules Exercises and to the management of the EU Civil Protection Training and Exercises Programme. He also has a vast experience in field missions and disaster relief activities: the 2015 Nepal Earthquake, the 2013 Haiyan typhoon in Philippines, the 2011 earthquake in Turkey, the 2005 floods in Guyana, the 2003 Bam earthquake in Iran and many others.

Mr. Marius Dogeanu is head of European Affairs, Assistance and International Relations in the Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations since 2004. His competencies in international assistance management were proven during the disastrous floods in Romania and also providing international assistance to other countries.  For 12 months was seconded to European Commission, Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, where he expanded his knowledge and experience as desk officer for Sudan and South Sudan, He also has a vast experience in field missions and disaster relief activities:2012 refugee crisis in Jordan,  the 2013 Haiyan typhoon in Philippines, Huricane Matthew in Haiti and others. Member of the management team for the Modex Exercises -  Exercises on civil protection modules, technical assistance and support teams and European Union civil protection teams – Lot 2 - exercises for High Capacity Pumping, Water Purification, CBRN Detection and Sampling, Flood Rescue Using Boats, Advanced Medical Post with or without Surgery (AMP/S), Technical Assistance and Support Team (TAST), experts of a European Union Civil Protection Team (EUCPT) as well as other capacities of the voluntary pool.

 

Mr. Erich Matthis is General Manager of ASB RV Bad Windsheim e.V., Member of the State Association First Aid of the Bavarian Aid Agencies, ASB State Commissioner for School Medical Service, ASB Regional Commissioner for Civil Protection and Instructor in Emergency Medicine – Mentor - MA Specialist Anesthesia & IC. His different tasks and experience include: Subject specialist and Instructor for Food & Care Disaster and Rapid Units, Head – and section chief in different actions, like flooding and refugee action and camp, Member of expert group “Food & Care” ASB Germany, Expert Health and Social Care world skills Germany. He has a long time experience in emergency medicine, rapid unit, disaster management, reparation services (Emergency Ambulance, Plane (Stretcher flights), Ambulance Jet, and medical services.

 

Mr. Marcel Lucaciuis a retired officer and owner of a small emergency preparedness, fire safety and security business. His work experience includes: head of direction (department director) - General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Ministry of Administration and Interior; General Inspector - General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Ministry of Administration and Interior (head of the organization); Romanian Home Affairs Attaché to NATO - International Relations Department, Ministry of Administration and Interior; Chief inspector - Arad County Emergency Situation Inspectorate and Civil Defense Operation Officer. His main tasks were: coordination and command of the Preventive Education of Population and Preparedness (early warning, sheltering and evacuation) and coordination of these activities at the national level.

 

Mr. Emil Roman is executive president of National Center APELL for Disaster Management Foundation and also is currently working as Freelance Consultant on Disaster Management. He has a military background and was the Head of Cluj County Civil Protection Inspectorate. Also he was involved in disaster relief and humanitarian assistance/international operations as part of  RDRT - Europe Zone (Regional Disaster Response Team - IFRC). He took part to national and international training's, workshops, and conferences organized by Civil Protection agencies, EU bodies or other International organizations. Participation fee:

The participation fee is 300 EUR. For representatives of the partner institutions the fee is 130 EUR (or 600 lei). The participation fee includes summer school materials, accommodation and meals. Transportation costs will be covered by the participants.

Important notes:

The summer school involves outdoor activities (2 nights in tents) and you are kindly asked to have proper equipment (boots, warm clothes, raincoats, sleeping bags). The dormitories are 4 beds each (shared bathroom).

The summer school is assigned 4 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). The language of the summer school is English.
